CrossFit Games 2024 Workouts
The CrossFit Games 2024 will feature 12 diverse events, each testing different aspects of overall fitness. So far, three workouts have been announced, highlighting the competition’s breadth and intensity.
Event 1: Run Swim
The opening event sets the tone for the competition with a demanding combination of running and swimming. Athletes will tackle a 4-mile course that requires both endurance and speed, seamlessly transitioning between running and swimming. This event is designed to test cardiovascular stamina and versatility in multiple environments.
Event 6: Sprint and Distance Run
Event 6 is a two-part challenge that begins with a high-intensity sprint, followed by a rest period, and concludes with a 1600-meter run. The sprint component demands explosive power and speed, while the subsequent 1600m run tests the athletes’ endurance and pacing strategy. The rest period between the two segments adds an element of strategy, as athletes must recover quickly to perform optimally in the distance run.
Event 7: Chad with a Twist
In this version of the classic “Chad” workout, athletes will face a tough test of both physical and mental strength. The exact twist in the workout hasn’t been revealed yet, but it will make the already challenging routine even harder. Upon completion of this event, the field of competitors will be reduced from 40 to 30, making it a critical juncture in the competition. As more workouts are revealed, the excitement and anticipation for the CrossFit Games continue to build.

Athletes to Watch at the CrossFit Games 2024
Below, we have compiled a list of standout athletes who are expected to be major contenders for the podium this weekend.
Pat Vellner (Men)
Throughout his career, Vellner has experienced highs and lows on the leaderboard. Could this finally be Pat Vellner’s year? He has competed in every CrossFit Games since 2016 but has yet to clinch the top spot. He has finished second three times (2023, 2021, and 2018) and third twice (2016 and 2017). The elite Canadian has mentioned that he doesn’t have many years left to compete with the younger athletes. At 34 years old, he will technically be considered a master athlete starting next year.
Roman Khrennikov (Men)
Roman Khrennikov was on the brink of making a significant impact last year until a foot injury forced him out of the final two events. Remarkably, even with this setback, he managed to secure second place overall. The Russian phenom is back with even greater determination and an unyielding winner’s mindset. His drive and passion have only intensified since last year. It wouldn’t be surprising if he claimed victory at the 2024 CrossFit Games.
Jeff Adler (Men)
He currently holds the title of Fittest Man on Earth and is determined to secure his place in history. Some argue that Khrennikov could have won last year if he hadn’t injured his foot, but few recall that Jeff Adler was already ahead of Khrennikov on the leaderboard before the injury occurred. Regardless, both athletes now have another opportunity to prove themselves and show who is more motivated and physically fit to claim the championship. These two are worth mentioning and guaranteed to put on a thrilling performance for the spectators.
Tia-Clair Toomey (Women)
After missing last year’s competition due to pregnancy, Toomey is back in 2024, ready to showcase her newfound mom strength. Given her performance this season, it’s highly likely she’ll be on the podium—and we wouldn’t be surprised if she claims the top spot. So far, Tia-Clair Toomey has won the crown of Fittest on Earth six times. Tia-Clair Toomey is undeniably the GOAT of CrossFit, with no other athlete matching her record of six titles as the Fittest on Earth. She’s now aiming for her seventh.
Laura Horvath (Women)
Laura Horvath managed to outpace Toomey at the Rogue Invitational last year, clinching victory by a mere 10 points. This 27-year-old Hungarian star has secured a podium finish for the past three years and is poised to continue her impressive streak. It is worth mentioning that Laura Horvath took the top spot in the absence of Tia-Clair Toomey. Toomey will be competing this year after recently finishing first at the North America East Semifinals. Horvath also triumphed at the European Semifinals this year.
Gabriela Migala (Women)
Could 2024 be the year Migala finally makes it to the podium? With impressive performances, including a 4th-place finish last year, her best yet, Migala, who is still only 25 years old, is continually growing stronger and fitter. Whenever Laura Horvath is mentioned, Gabriela Migala’s name often follows. Not only are they friends outside the gym—Migala is actually Horvath’s brother’s girlfriend—but they also train together occasionally. With this camaraderie, 2024 could very well be Migala’s breakout year.
